  Best BREAD PRICES in the area, then look for the added weekly ones....check outs are LONG as a RULE. other than that a good contrast with the dollar store near by

  I normally don't shop at this store as I find the selection isn't as good as it is at other stores, however, the prices are better than Sobey's, Metro, Great Canadian etc., so it's a good place to get your basic items.
  
  Last time I was in this store it was 'off hours' and there was only one regular cashier open, which had a very long line up, so the 'express' line cashier asked a couple of us to go to him even though our carts contained well over 12 items.
  
  As my husband and I we were unloading our groceries onto the conveyor belt, a man came up behind us and started giving us a hard time about having too many items. He was very aggressive, even though I explained to him that the cashier had invited us to this line, it didn't seem to calm him; he just got more offensive.
  Normally I would let anyone behind me with a few items go ahead of me, but this time I didn't - this person may have been expecting that, but his demeanour didn't get any warm fuzzies from me as his behaviour escalated.
  We can never be sure that we won't run into unreasonable people like this as we go about our day, but I can say that I was very disappointed that the cashier who had asked us to use his checkout didn't step in and assure the man that we weren't doing anything wrong. He didn't do anything and left my husband and I at the mercy of a pretty scary situation. You may save a few pennies shopping here, but I can't say I've ever had to deal with this type of person at the other stores I mentioned earlier, so i'll be very wary about using this store again.

  Open late and usually has competitive pricing. Sometimes you can find great deals. Very friendly staff
